Elgin Fruit Growers, a private company with fruit growers as its shareholders, is mainly involved in letting property to a range of lessees, +- 40 in total and mostly companies serving the farming community.

To manage and expand its business they now need an experienced manager with the following qualification, skills, knowledge and attributes:

• A suitable qualification with experience in accounting
• At least 10 years’ experience in property rental/management with multiple tenants
• Project management experience
• Experience in general maintenance, property development and client liaison
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Strategic planning skills with a hands-on approach
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong computer literacy

Key performance areas will include:
• Financial: occupancy rate, rentals, other income growth, rent collection rate, net operating income, year-end financials
• Operational: compliance, vacancy duration, turnover rate, maintenance response time
• Portfolio Management: lease expiry forecasting and planning, renewals, capital improvement, return on investment
• Strategic planning: expansion success rate measurement, sustainability metrics (energy, waste, etc.), technology, adoption
• Tenant satisfaction: retention rate of tenants, complaint resolution times

Reporting to the Board, and with a small team as support, the position offers a market related salary with a rewarding incentive scheme, based on agreed performance targets, and the possibility of flexible hours and days.

Boomerang Fruits are looking for a dedicated and experienced Foreman to join our team on a thriving apple and pear farm. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong organizational and people-management skills.

Location: Grabouw

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate fruit picking, pruning, and thinning operations.
• Supervise a team of approximately 60 seasonal and permanent employees in high season.
• Ensure productivity targets, quality standards, and safety regulations are met.
• Support planning and execution of daily farm tasks with the farm manager.
• Assist in irrigation and spraying and the maintenance of the systems and equipment (advantageous).

Requirements:

• Previous experience in orchard or farm production management preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
• Knowledge of irrigation and spraying systems is an advantage.
• Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor work.

Accommodation: Housing is available on the farm for the successful candidate.
